Updates, Live Dates, Etc.....

Haven't really blogged in a while since mainly everyone has been seeing all the updates on reverbnation and facebook, but I'll blog anyways. Monochrome Circuit is indeed playing live this Spring and Summer as we make our debut in our home town of Flint, MI at the iconic Machine Shop opening for Minnesota's Blue Felix on May 14th! We are extremely excited about this show and it's going to be an all around great show. Be sure to join us for it! The doors will be at 7pm and if you're 21+ tickets will be at the door for only $5 and if you're 18-20 tickets will be available at the door for $8. I would personally pay a crap ton more to see this show. Monochrome Circuit will be putting on a show that has completely been lacked in Flint's historic rock and metal scene. Blue Felix is a great band that is going to give a memorable show as well, so we hope to see you there.

Another date has just been confirmed but I don't have a whole lot of details to announce quite yet except we will be playing at the High Octane Lounge in Romeo, MI on June 25th. I'll post more details as soon as I get them, so stay tuned for that. There will indeed be more dates in June so keep your eyes peeled. I'm sending out a rediculous amount of emails to venues and we'll see what happens, but we are planning on playing in as many places as possible all summer long, so keep your eyes peeled for more live dates, because there will be more.

Further news, my second EP entitled "Desolate Cycles" will be available this Spring just in time for the live show. It's going to be a 6 song EP containing songs that fell just short of making on "The Translucent Reflection" track list plus a few songs that will be on "...Reflection" as well. Stay tuned for more updates there too.

Keeping extremely busy working on both the EP and the full length as well as getting ready for the live show. Stay tuned on further updates and I hope to see and meet you all this summer!

Update: 12/30/10

Last update of the year!

So who's ready for 2011? I know I am! Big things are expected, so hopefully things will actually go to plan this year! I was finally able to get started on vocals yesterday and will be working hard on those. When the vocals are done and mixed the album will be done! Laying down vocals is always my least favorite part, but knowing that this is the last thing I have to do in terms of finishing these songs is all the motivation I need. As you can imagine, I'm ready to move on and start making some new songs, so I'll be able to do that once I get this album out there, and I can't wait for that.

After tomorrow, I'm going to take a few days off and relax. I've been on the go 100% for two weeks straight. Also, I'm going to the Lions' game on Sunday, so I can't wait for that! My whole weekend will be in Detroit actually! New Years Eve is the big Kenneth Thomas cd release party! I can't wait and it's going to be an absolute blast. On top of the legendary KT, there are TONS of other great dj's spinning that night including Yos, Shawn Michaels, Hady Basha, Marcus Beier, and a WHOLE lot more. Tickets are still available I do believe, but they're going quickly, so be sure to get your tickets, like, right now. It will sell out. You can get your tickets here: http://www.wantickets.com/EventDetail.aspx?e_id=136190

I'll be keeping you updated on the facebook page with everything going on out there tomorrow night. Happy New Year everyone and expect a whole lot of Monochrome Circuit in 2011!

Talk to you next year!

UPDATE: 12/03/10

Ah yes, the terrible year is almost over with! On to a much bigger and better year in 2011! Is it just me or do even number years always suck? Well, as some of you may know I decided to start Monochrome Circuit in 2010, so hopefully that will be at least one good thing to take out of 2010. I've been working on the debut album "The Translucent Reflection" since February, and anyone that has followed me during some of my old projects like ChaIned And Shackled (myspace.com/chainedandshackled) you know I'm right on cue for my typical releasing an album a year after I started it. Pretty much ALL of the music is now done and the rest is a matter of vocals. Once I get over that HUGE hurdle (I hate my vocals) and find some cuts that I can tolerate and get it all mixed and mastered the album will be done! I was going to work with a superstar awesome freaking artist on the album cover until I remembered I'm poor. Lets just say there have been some issues this year where I've had to involuntarily spend a HUGE amount of money at once, leaving me no budget on album artwork. Therefore, it looks like I'm going to have to do it myself. Fitting though, huh? With all that being said, as long as I can find a good home for the album, it looks like it will be released EARLY early spring at the absolute latest. I would even be so bold to say that it still has a chance to be out this winter, but not until 2011. So we're getting much closer!

I've also been on a remixing binge and it gave me an idea to someday release a FREE remix album. That isn't my number one priority because I want to get this debut out, maybe a few more E.P.'s, and possibly another full length done by the time I worry about any of that, but whenever I have enough decent remixes to compile a whole album is when I'll release the free album! If I keep remixing songs at the rate I am right now, there could be one coming your way sooner than that, who knows?

That's about it for now. I'll blog soon, I promise!

UPDATE: 10/12./10

Just wanted to give you a quick update since I haven't lately. I pretty much have everything wrapped up. At least the frames of everything. Artwork has been started, but not quite near completion yet. I've worked on a few new tracks for future releases as well, but I've been making and listening to these songs since February so I'm sick and tired of them and want to get this album done and released so hopefully it will be some time by the end of the year, but we'll see what happens. That's it for now, I'll keep you posted and thanks for reading.

ALBUM NEWS/UPDATES!

Alright, so the full length is damn near done! So with that being said I thought I'd finally give you more details on it. The musical portion is pretty much completed, so the next step is to lay down the vocals, and I'll get starting on that next week. After that, it'll be time to get the artwork done. It sounds like a lot of work but I'll be able to work on a lot at the same time. So, now for the stuff you probably care more about. The name and track list...Yes, I am finally ready, believe it or not.

THE TRANSLUCENT REFLECTION

1. God Help Us All
2. Lets Go
3. Demonoid Hellektro
4. Blackheart
5. The Exertion
6. W.M.F.
7. The Translucent Reflection
8. The Dance Floor Made Me Do It
9. Where Was Love
10. The Death Of You

More updates soon!

Officially A Rock Star

Every rock star has lived in their car, and I'm doing so now, so I'm now officially a rock star! Don't worry, it isn't as bad as it sounds. I've got it pretty good. The biggest problem with this is that it's really slowed down making these cds. Luckily for me, I'm close to getting them done at least. With that being said, I don't really have a whole lot to update you on but I thought I owed you an update anyways.

I'm putting some finishing touches on some songs for "...Overdrive", then I'll have a track list ready to release to you. I'll make damn sure it's ready by the end of the summer. Does early September count? Lets shoot for that. I have less to do for "...Overdrive" so I think that's a realistic goal.

As far as the full length, I'm putting some finishing touches on some songs. I pretty much only need to finish the music on three songs, then I need to lay down vocals for all the songs then that too will be finished. I won't give you a time table for that yet though because I don't even know when it can all be done. I've had the name of the full length decided for quite some time but I haven't ever said anything in terms of what it's going to be called but I'll announce that to you when I announce the track list for the cd. That shouldn't be too much longer.

"...Overdrive" isn't going to be sound wise the indentity that Monochrome Circuit has become. It's pretty much going to be demo work and literal crap that wasn't good enough to go on the full length so it will be released for free. I'll have a track list for that very soon.

That's pretty much it. You can now find Monochrome Circuit all over the web starting with the one you already know about, myspace, Monochrome Circuit is now on facebook, and reverb nation. I've started making a band camp account, but I'll link you as soon as I have some stuff up there and that will come when I can figure out how the hell to use it. Thanks for reading and thanks for your patience, I'll keep you posted!
